The Bottom Set Tie Back Packer is used as a tie back system to provide optimal sealing above the Liner Hanger system in the event of a leak. It consists of a high performance elastomeric packer element and several seal assemblies. The packer element is an elastomeric sheath which is designed to resist high pressures combined with high temperatures and high circulation. The seal assembly has special Molyglass chevron rings and an o-ring in the center to ensure high seal integrity. Its material can be changed to meet all reservoir demands.
After setting the Liner Hanger systemand finishing the cementing job the seal assemblies of the Bottom Set Tie Back Packer are stabbed into the top PBR. The Packer element is located above the PBR and is activated by a Packer Actuator or by the Setting Tool, in order to seal the casing annulus. In addition, the Bottom Set Tie Back Packer can be equipped with a hold down anchor system above the packer element to ensure minimum packer movement.
Additionally, the Bottom Set Tie Back Packer provides a new PBR for more tie back operations.
